We are proud to announce that one of our family members in Lebanon Samer Maroun Taouk 19, the son of Maroun and Zizi Maroun Taouk is participating in the Pyeong Chang 2018 Winter Olympic Games. Samer was the Flag bearer of the Lebanese Winter Olympic Team 2018 at the opening ceremony that took place 9th February at Pyeong Chang, South Korea. Samer is the first Lebanese cross-Country Skier to be qualified for the 2018 Winter Olympic Games. Two and a half years ago he switched from alpine skiing to cross-country skiing. It has been a hard journey to qualify for the Winter Olympics 15 km freestyle event. Samer is looking forward to taking part in the next Olympic winter games that will be held in Beijing in 2022. He is also planning to complete his studies in physical education. The Taouk Association is immensly proud of Samer for what he has achieved. We are in full support of Samer in his Olympic Endeavor. Samer not only make us proud but he also makes both Bsharri and Lebanon proud as well.
We pray for Samer’s victory and safe return home and for all his future endeavors. We regret to inform you that Youssef Habib Bou-Ftira Taouk has passed away in Lebanon aged 94. In Australia Youssef is the father of Saida, the wife of Youssef Somsom Taouk and Therese, the wife of Fouad Najib Hajjeh Taouk. His family will be receiving condolences on after the memorial service on Wednesday 14th February at 7 PM
